JESUS IS THE ANSWER!

I don't sleep well at night and sometimes am up long before it gets light outside.. it is in that hour before daylight, that it seems to get the blackest. What a wonderful time this is to be in the Lord.

The Lord speaks and tells me "Man is like a rumpled unmade bed everything tossed here and there. It's ok till someone comes and sees the mess we've made and still left undone.

When someone comes in we wonder what they will think of us and our lack of housekeeping. We might make excuses why we didn't get it made. We didn't have time, or didn't feel well, not saying the truth that we didn't expect anyone so why make up the bed for just ourselves.

It's like that with our life, we plan to clean out all the unclean rumpled corners  and yet keep putting it off for another day.

Maybe we tell ourselves lies.."oh I can do it later" but then what happens when the Lord comes, will our bed be made? Our hearts and mind be cleaned, or will the bed be still unmade?

We tell the Lord "I am going to do this today" yet we put it off for another day, knowing full well another day may not come but still acting as if we have plenty of time to get things in order. No the Lord isn't like that. Just as people dropping in on us without telling us they're coming, the Lord will come when we least expect him because the hour is not known. "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken" (Matthew 12:36).

Is the bed made, the house cleaned? Most people lie to themselves all the time but even a lie like that with all good intention is still a lie. Can we say "I am going to do this" and yet not do it without it being a lie? No we can't because a lie is a lie. God said in his word, "Let your yes be yes and your no be no." Any thing beyond that and we tangle up our tongues ("Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen" (Ephesians 4:29.)) and start making excuses for why we haven't done what.. we know what we should have done and words turn into lies. When we say what we mean and then do what we say we are going to, then we honor the Lord and also show respect for others.

God says, "in their minds people say. He isn't coming today, I have plenty of time to get ready, besides he is a loving God and will always forgive me for anything I do wrong."   What if he comes and the bed is still unmade, will he leave that one here or take him/her up to be with him  in  Heaven? When we lie to ourselves, we also lie to God, yes that's right we are telling God an out right lie. Oh yes we plan to make it right in our own time but remember our time isn't Gods time. His time may be a split second and then eternity. Is our belief so little that we think we can taunt God with our sins and have him rapt us  on the knuckles like we are naughty children and forgive us each time we sin, even if we have done the same thing hundreds of times in the past? We know what is sin but do we think God will be so kind as to shove it into the sea and forget it?

Each day the bed  goes unmade it gets more rumpled with new folds and creases and dirty without sweat. That is the way our insides look to the Lord..used, spent and unkept. We again tell ourselves. "No one can see what I do and that my bed is unmade and that i am unready for company. I will tuck my deeds in this little corner where no one ever has to see that it is such a rumpled mess full of dents and creases. Lies and deceit go hand in hand with Satan and truth is of the Lord. "Wherefore putting away lying, speaking every man truth with his neighbor." Eph.4:25. "All liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." Rev.21:8.

Do  you  know  that  nothing  escapes the Lord? Try and count the hairs on your head or the stars in the sky at night...impossible for man but God sees each star that falls to earth and knows the number of hairs on our heads.  Luke 12:6-7  " even the very hairs of your head are all numbered."
Not one thing is hid from an all seeing God.

We also tend to think that we can place the Lord in that same little corner, telling him, "You stay right there Lord and wait on me, i'll get around to you soon enough. Besides I have my own ideas of how this should go or what I should do, don't want to bother you when I can do it myself. What a bad mistake for someone to take that attitude with the Lord. When we fail it is then we yell to the Father like angry children, "Why did this happen to me Lord?" If we tell ourselves we can do it without the Lord then we again lie ..we as the body of Christ can do nothing in ourselves.

There is no such thing as an innocent lie and there is always someone who will be hurt by that untruth be it you or another person. It is better to put a bridle on the tongue and utter nothing then to tell a lie. "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16.
